Since #COVID19AB began, BioAlberta has worked with our members to identify local companies who can assist both levels of government with production and procurement of supplies needed to fight this viral outbreak. As government programs continue to evolve BioAlberta remains committed to navigating you to the supports you need to advance your business goals and to the growth and health of the life sciences community. We are also committed to helping you effectively cope during this COVID-19 outbreak, personally and professionally. The Government of Canada announced financial aid and important supports for businesses and individuals that can assist you, your family and your employees manage through this trying period of time. To learn more about the COVID-19 Economic Response Plan and how to access evolving financial aid mechanisms see GOC Support. Remember that tax filing deferrals are June 1st for individuals August 31st for corporations. The aid package also designated $25,000 per small business employer to help subsidize wages, a $300 Canada Child Benefit increase and changes to the GST Credit. The Government of Alberta also announced new funding and supportive measures to provide immediate financial relief to Alberta’s families, local businesses and employers.
